POSITION PURPOSE The Senior Controls Engineer (level 3) reports to Technical Leadership and whose focus is performing design and support of moderate to high complexity controls systems and equipment, mentoring to other Engineers and supporting process improvements. This position works under a moderate to low level of supervision. Independent technical decisions on work are covered by precedents; this position seeks direction/guidance on novel or controversial problems. In addition, this position may participate in project-specific relationship building with Customers, Suppliers, individuals or organizations.Essential Functions % TIME • Plans, schedules and coordinates detailed phases of a project. 0% • Devises new approaches to problems encountered. 0% • Performs work which involves conventional engineering practices and standards, but includes a variety of complex features, such as conflicting design requirements, non-standard tools, materials, or equipment and difficult coordination requirements. 0% • Designs, supports, improves and tests moderate to high complexity controls and automation systems and equipment. Ensures designs meet usability and supportability criteria. Independently troubleshoots/analyzes component/system problems. 0% • Leads and implements automated equipment design projects with industry best practices for machine safety, ergonomics, and efficiency/product yields. 0% • Sets technical direction on projects to Level 1 and 2 Engineers and Technicians. 0% • Supports the manufacturing floor for any controls related questions. Develops and leads training for controls systems use and implementation. 0% • 0% • 0% Other Functions • May provide repair and maintenance support of controls systems. • May independently fabricate controls systems as required. • May participate in international and multi-site projects. •Solid knowledge of vendors, manufacturing processes, and procurement methods. • Solid understanding of PLCs and automation. Implements system automation solutions. • Solid understanding of ladder logic, arrays, tags, and programming. • Solid understanding of SCADA. • Ability to program and deploy complex HMIs • Solid understanding of communication protocol, EIP, OPC-UA, knowledge of relational and historical databasing, industrial networking and network interface, remote access and entry points • Solid understanding and ability to implement robotics, vision systems, linear actuators, servos, VFDs, motion control, motor control • Solid understanding of safety circuits and safety hardware • Solid understanding of data acquisition hardware and associated programming • Ability to create electrical schematics and 3D models QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Formal Training Education Level Education Details Req Pref And/Or US –
Bachelor's Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS)
Technical/Engineering/Mechatronics or International equivalent. Strong
Six Sigma tools knowledge. X Experience Experience Experience Details
