Responsibilities |
The selected individual will be responsible for the following efforts: Conducting safety audits and on-site inspections to identify workplace hazards and unsafe equipment, working practices or working conditions. Develop and implement policies and procedures so that the organization meets established EHS targets (for example reducing accidents and injury, minimizing emissions, recycling waste). Monitor and evaluate the organization’s overall EHS performance to identify recurring problems; research, evaluate, and recommend changes to technology, equipment, systems, or processes that will improve the organization’s EHS performance. Provide technical expertise and advice on EHS issues to functional or operational areas managers to help them manage their EHS responsibilities. Maintain positive relationships with local community, and government. Keep up-to-date with proposed and actual changes in environmental regulations; so the organization’s EHS policies remain current and relevant. Implementing the organization’s EHS strategy effectively and within established budgets and that the organization complies with all relevant regulations, laws, and standards. Investigating environmental or safety incidents; preparing reports and recommendations. Implementing waste management programs, Developing and delivering EHS training programs, and provide training. Participate in plant EHS meetings and support agenda content. Implement Corporate EHS initiatives, develop safe job procedures. Perform routine safety and housekeeping inspections. Establish plant PPE requirements and selection and provisions for stocking. Coordinate emergency preparedness: procedures, training, equipment and drills. Establish methods of communicating EHS information to plant employees. Take part in management of change activities for chemicals, equipment and processes. Participate in HAZOP, PRA and ORR activities. Conducting ergonomics and job hazard analysis (JHA). Leading compliance with ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 standards. |
Requirements |
Qualifications Bachelor's degree with 5 years experience in technical field Experience in implementing training and EHS programs using various methods Strong inter-personal written and verbal communication skills Strong self-organization and forward planning abilities Possesses the flexibility to deal with crisis situations, without losing perspective of longer term priorities and the consequential effect of actions taken Good knowledge of Microsoft office suite software (e.g. Word, Excel, MS project, etc.) Flexible, task and solution orientated Fluent command of English and Mandarin / written and spoken |
