Responsibilities |
Summary Overall be responsible for TJ MMI plant quality system implementation and improvement, organization development and people management. Direct, coordinate, and report on quality improvement efforts at the site. Implement systems which reduce variability of purchased and assembled parts. Work directly with customers and suppliers in resolving quality issues. Promote an ISO 9000 mindset on the factory floor.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
· Coach and instruct plant quality teams to set up right and good quality awareness to meet ITT policy and vision.
· Determine and implement appropriate quality sampling plans for production and incoming inspection.
· Analyze defect data (production, scrap, and RMAs) to ensure root cause resolution. Drives corrective actions and continuous improvements. Promotes use of Corrective Action System.
· Perform quality planning for new programs. Submits first article reports to customers on schedule.
· Report quality trends to everyone in the organization, top-to-bottom. Communicate the quality indices to employees and initiate CAR in accordance with it.
· Lead site quality communication like monthly quality meetings, management reviews and internal audit etc.
· Help direct process engineers to improve process capability.
· Ensure congruence between site quality manual and actual practice.
· Lead supplier development team to maintain suppliers at an acceptable quality level.
· Manage MRB, Inspection, and RMA inventory levels. Ensures timely MRB decisions.
· Actively participate in design kick-off and design review.
· Interface with customers to resolve quality issues and implement corrective action or 8D.
· Plan, schedule, and implement training for quality control personnel and any other employees whose work directly or indirectly affect products quality.
· Perform other duties as required, such as internal audit, management review, 2nd and 3rd party audit.
· Corporate with EHS coordinator to establish environmental, safety and security system against relevant standards, regulation, customer requirements and ITT policies. Periodically review the performance and report to top management to drive improvements.
· Provide the overall direction, coordination, guidance, and evaluation of the quality assurance functions of the site.
· Carries out management responsibilities in accordance with ITT policies and applicable laws.
· Actively lead teams which involve various functions towards problem solving and work excellence. |
Requirements |
Qualifications & Skills
· B.S. engineering, electrical or mechanical degree preferred. Master’s degree preferred.
· 10 - 15 years experience in a high tech manufacturing environment required.
· Strong understanding of quality principles and tools (e.g., TQM, SPC,AQL, DOE, FMEA, GR&R etc).
· Prior management experience required.
· Possess knowledge of ISO9001, TS16949,PPAP or equivalent.
· Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from engineers, managers and customers.
· Ability to write reports, business correspondence, evaluations and other similar papers.
· Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, or technical papers.
· Ability to hold conference call with internal and external partners.
· Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
· Ability to interpret an extensive variety of production processes and deal with abstract and concrete variables.
· Apply quality policy to everyday duties and responsibilities.
· Proficiency with ERP, MS Excel, MS Word and MS Mail preferred.
· Some travel required.
· Proficiency with English |
