The position is responsible for leading equipment/material and critical drawing delivered with good schedule and quality, to improve overall project cost, quality, and schedule effectiveness.
Inspected categories cover steel fabrications for furnaces and steel processing equipment and pressure equipment. Engineering background, good knowledge of steel fabrication process.
The position has a lot of communication interface internally and externally, good interpersonal and communication skills are essential. Be active, positive and team spirit.

NATURE AND SCOPE
This role requests solid equipment/material expediting and inspection experience, rich knowledge on material and process, good project management skill as well as communication skills.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
Understanding project background and supplier condition, apply different expediting and inspection level for different PO.
Understand the scope of order, including documentation requirement, delivery terms. Good knowledge of fabrication sequence so to optimize expediting and inspection priority.
Work with supplier to develop detail fabrication schedule with critical milestone, identifying bottleneck or high risky process step.
He is responsible for oversight of the fabrication facility's quality assurance according to standard ITP/QCP and must have significant knowledge of welding codes, metal structure, heat-treatment, machining, and demonstrable experience in a similar position.
Ability to review quality-related documents, such as material certificates, heat treatment reports, dimensional reports, welder qualifications, NDT personnel qualifications, etc.
Timely action taken to catch up schedule if any delay occurs.
If delay has impacted to project schedule, immediately report to PM, upgrade expediting level by increased conference call and shop visit. Analysis the delay root cause and make a solid plan to improve delivery.
Regular communication with project team to understand the latest project status, and realistic date for equipment and materials, adjust delivery plan according to project requirement.
Lead or support to address any issue that will impact delivery and/or create quality issues.
Cooperation with logistic team for shipping arrangement, collect shipping documentation as required. Involve logistic support for over-size equipment/material or special needs
Maintain expediting and inspection report and send to project team at a regular basis. Regular meetings should be scheduled with Project Manager to review reports on items that might impact project schedule. Rating vendor and provide feedback to department manager for vendor performance review.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s Degree in engineering background with relevant professional experience (＞5 years) as inspector/expediter in the steel equipment and/or pressure equipment industry.
Good knowledge of steel fabrications process.
Effectively executes the required quality procedures, codes, or standards to meet the company needs for both local and export projects.
Ability to present concise engineering evaluations and recommendations both orally and written.
Good follow up and interaction skills and communication skills are expected.
Ability to travel for extended periods, meeting with suppliers to verify vendor’s reported progress toward on time delivery and for quality issue resolution as needed.
Good organization and written presentation skills, an eye for detail and the ability to write succinct reports, minutes and procedures.
Excellent command of both written and spoken English.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Completion of welding-related certification programs (CWI, IWI, IWE or equivalents).
Level II certification in UT, MT and PT.
Project management working experience.
Good knowledge of casting and forging process.
One year minimum of experience associated with the pressure equipment industry in the categories below:
oManufacturing, including fabrication methods or processes, in either shop or field.
oPerformance of repairs, alterations, or maintenance of boilers or pressure vessels.
oQuality control systems related to boiler or pressure vessel manufacturing, repair, or alteration in either shop or field.
oInspection of boilers or pressure vessels either in service or during construction including either shop or field.
oNDT examiner of boiler and pressure vessels meeting ASNT Level II or III (qualified by examination) or equivalent qualifications. |
