Senior Machining Process Engineer |

| Responsibilities |
OVERVIEW :
Ø Generates Machining Processes, Routings, Labor Standards and Tooling Packages, using Computer Aided Engineering Tools.
Ø Interacts with Product Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, and Quality Engineering developing Process solutions for various parts.
Ø Integrates external models of Fixtures and Tooling to develop complete solution.
Ø Develops supporting documentation and work instruction aids as part of the overall workflow.
Ø Interacts with Product Engineering in the Design for Manufacture (DFM), Product Delivery Process (PDP) and Order Fulfillment Process (OFP).
Ø Provides primary leadership to resolve Safety, Quality, Manufacturability, Ergonomic, and Cost concerns.
MAJOR DUTIES :
Creation and Maintenance of Process Documentation in support of Machining projects in the factory from early planning stages on into full production to insure that all Manufacturability issues are addressed.
Specifies and Designs required Manufacturing and Quality assurance tools required to support the Machining Operations, interacting with other departments.
Directs the Setup, and Prove Out of new Machining processes.
Provides leadership in developing Quality and Process Control plans, working with the Product, Production and Quality Engineers in a collaborative Team environment.
Provides leadership in directing Team activities in support of Deere Production System, with emphasis on Quality, Lean Manufacturing, Mistake Proofing, and Continuous Improvement activities.
Works with Product, Production and Quality Engineers resolving Quality issues. Active participant in the NCAA and other corrective action processes.
Active Team participant in developing Continuous Improvement Programs.
Maintains and provides data in support of Budget development and control.
Maintains and provides data in support of Product costing processes.
Supports Maintenance activities in maintaining Machine availability.
Provide advice and support for Total Preventive Maintenance (TPM).
Trains others in the Operation, and support of CNC Machine Tools.
Provides Supervisory support for Production or Maintenance when needed. |
| Requirements |
TECHNICAL SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE :
ü Background in Engineering Disciplines - Has a working knowledge of the principles and uses the knowledge, independently, or as part of a Team.
ü Knowledge of drawing and schematic interpretation, product models, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing. - Has an working knowledge of the principles, and applies them in their daily activities.
ü Knowledge of standard Quality tools such as PFMEA (Process Failure Modes Effect Analysis), SPC (Statistical Process Control), Root Cause Analysis, and basic Statistics. - Has a working knowledge of the principles, and applies them in their daily activities.
ü Knowledge of Manufacturing processes, Quality, Tooling, Tool Design, Total Preventative Maintenance and Facilities. - Has a working knowledge of the principles, and applies them in their daily activities.
ü Knowledge of Engineering systems, Tools and Databases. - Has a working knowledge of the principles, and applies them in their daily activities.
EDUCATION :
Degree in an Technology discipline, or 10 years experience in lieu of degree
Related Functional Experience. - 5-10 years.
Pro E Experience. – .5-1 years.
CAD Tools – 1-3 years.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Tools including Project.
Knowledge of Capital Budget Tools, Internal Rate of Return (IRR), Net Present Value (NPV)
Bi-Lingual – Chinese & English – minimum of US 11th grade English.
RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCES :
ANY COMBINATION OF, IN ADDITION TO EDUCATION
“Hands ON” Machining. – 5 years plus – minimum 1 year in large Cast Iron parts.
General engineering work experience. - 3-5 years.
Technical relating to diagnostics of Mechanical, Electrical, Hydraulic - 1–3 years.
Experience with engineering tools, systems and databases. - 1-3 years.
Experience in use of Statistical tools & Techniques for Quality - 1-3 years.
ADDITIONAL SKILLS:
Ability to work in a Team Environment.
Continuing Education desires.
Strong Work Ethic.
