Position Quality Supervisor
Company Info An American wholly owned,Fortune 500 company,establishes a new plant in TEDA of Tianjin
Responsibilities MAJOR PURPOSE:
Applies Quality tools to formulate/facilitate quality plans for new product
within the factory Product Delivery Teams, Order Fulfillment Teams, Supply
Management Teams and/or Customer Support Teams. Encourages early and ongoing
interaction between manufacturing, engineering, suppliers and customers to
identify and solve all quality issues. Coordinates the activities and
resources in the Quality Support function to meeting quality objectives and
drive continuous improvement.

MAJOR DUTIES: Description of the major duties performed in this job.

* Uses quality tools and processes to formulate/facilitate quality activities
for the unit Product Delivery, Order Fulfillment, Supply Management and/or
Customer Support. Participates on management teams and is responsible for
comprehensive Quality Plans.

* Investigates unit quality related issues and concerns related to product
and processes, gathers and analyzes data, resolves/facilitates resolution
and implements corrective action. Engages in applying/leading Quality
tools on Customer Support Process (CSP), Continuous Improvement (CI),
and/or Value Improvement (VI) teams. Executes John Deere Quality Control
Plan where implemented.

* Supports supply management activities by reviewing and facilitating
improvement in supplier quality plans, processes, and performance of new
and existing suppliers.

* Tracks various events related to product and process quality. Applies
quality tools, statistical techniques, inspections, audits and analyses to
plan, control, and improve product, process, and service quality.

* Participates, facilitates and/or leads quality improvement teams, quality
planning teams and cost reduction teams.

* Investigates and justifies the acquisition of various software, hardware,
tools and facilities for measurement, data acquisition, analysis, or
infrastructure associated with quality activities.

* Facilitates and writes quality procedures for the purpose of
maintaining/updating the factory quality system and supports quality system
audits, reviews results with audit team, and participates in management
review meetings.

* Supervises, coaches, trains and provides work direction to Quality
Engineers and wage technicians. Participates in selection process,
supports performance management and career development.

Technical Skills & Knowledge: Specialized skills, knowledge and abilities

* Knowledge of drawing and schematic interpretation, product models,
geometric dimensioning and tolerancing. (Performs more complex functions,

* Knowledge of standard quality tools such as FMEA (Failure Modes Effect
Analysis), SPC (Statistical Process Control), Root Cause Analysis,
Statistics. (Has an expert understanding of the principles, can apply the
information to complex situations, solve complex problems, conduct
research/break new ground, develop new applications, and provide expert
support for other practitioners.)

* Knowledge of manufacturing and/or distribution processes, quality, tooling,
tool design, total preventative maintenance and facilities. (Performs more
complex functions, understands principles, may teach others.)

* Knowledge of advanced quality tools such as Design of experiments and
regression analysis. (Performs more complex functions, understands
principles, may teach others.)

* Knowledge of products, customers, markets and competitors. (Performs more
complex functions, understands principles, may teach others.)

* Knowledge of supply management systems, processes and practices. (Has an
expert understanding of the principles, can apply the information to
complex situations, solve complex problems, conduct research/break new
ground, develop new applications, and provide expert support for other
practitioners.)


Education: Formal education or training required to perform the essential
functions of the job. Includes degrees, certifications, licenses and/or
registration requirements.

* Degree in a Business/Management discipline or equivalent experience.
(University Degree (4 years or equivalent))

* Degree in an Engineering/Technology discipline or equivalent experience.
(University Degree (4 years or equivalent))

* Degree in a Science discipline or equivalent experience. (University Degree
(4 years or equivalent))

* Degree in a Math discipline or equivalent experience. (University Degree (4
years or equivalent))


Relevant work experiences: Type and amount of experience necessary to perform
the essential functions of the job. May include specific roles and/or an
understanding of a particular function, organization, industry or product line.

* Experience in one or more related engineering areas: industrial,
production, methods, reliability, design, manufacturing, warehousing and
distribution, quality. (4 - 7 years)

* Experience with engineering tools, systems and databases. (4 - 7 years)

* Experience in use of statistical tools and techniques for quality
management. (4 - 7 years)

* Demonstrated team leadership and mentoring experience. (4 - 7 years)

* Project management experience. (Complex Project, consists of some or all of
the following criteria: 6 to 12 persons on the project team; 3 to 6
disciplines involved; multiple facilities within Division are involved;
scope in dollars is $500,000 to $5,000,000 and is determined on budget,
revenues generated, savings, etc.)
