Responsibilities |
Exercise and enforce timely, accurate transactions (issues, returns, transfers, adjustments, etc.) that yield accurate inventory balances for material stock in area assigned. • Transactions may include, but are not limited to: issues, returns, adjustments, scraps, DMRs, transfers, sales changes, etc.
Contribute to inventory turns and customer flexibility objectives by following sound inventory management practices. • Coordinate the phase in/out of engineering changes (E.R.s) that affect material in assigned area • Measure and disposition excessive and obsolete inventory • Contribute to the implementation and maintenance of JPS (JLG Production System) Consumption and other ‘Pull’ systems in the area assigned to ensure timely replenishment. • Coordinate vendor stocked material in the assigned area (i.e.fasteners)
Create, control and measure the schedule for manufactured parts in the area that is assigned. • Change/maintain database parameters so planning and execution systems support the production plan with regard to the material flow.
Release and maintain dates on manufacturing work orders and ISL (Interplant) orders to satisfy production and service demand
Ensure that due dates are met, the orders are transacted, shipped & received in a timely manner and that due dates are changed in light of schedule and sales changes.
Monitor material availability/shortages and expedite as required to support due dates.
Schedule of sublet items and communicate directly with suppliers as necessary. • Review availability of parts and process sales changes as requested • Contribute to out/insourcing activity to avoid left over parts.
Provide guidance and effective corrective action on materials and inventory issues on the shop floor. • Identify opportunities, research, develop alternative solutions, work with resources to resolve, communicate as necessary and follow up to ensure resolution; specifically regarding inaccurate bills of materials, causes of shortages, space constraints, frequency of delivery, appropriate packaging, other process & systems issues.
Train people in area on inventory/materials processes and systems to enhance functionality. |
Requirements |
Up to 2 years of experience in materials/inventory management.
Working knowledge of shop floor scheduling, material planning and inventory controls policies and procedures.
Basic understanding of sound business controls.
Basic understanding of accounting principles is required. Strong mathematical ability is required. Certification in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) is preferable. Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
Adept in using P.C.s and MAPICS to enter, obtain and organize data.
Ability to read bills of material and interpret MRP output..
Demonstrate the ability to prioritize tasks.
Negotiate and demonstrate good conflict and problem resolution.
