Responsibilities |
Summary
To develop and manage the Value-based Product Development and project management processes for the factory. Working with both external and internal customers, this individual will be required to develop appropriate solutions for a range of new product introduction situations to meet both the customers and the Group companies’ requirements.
The successful candidate will be responsible for creating and managing project teams to deliver such solutions using both internal and external engineering and manufacturing resources.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
· Undertake the new product development process by converting specific project inputs into outputs by using various project tools and techniques. Plan, execute and control all new projects using defined methods and techniques. Adopt the ITT value-based product development initiative as the framework for advancing products from initial customer enquiry through to mass production.
· Matrix manage and co-ordinate cross-functional teams in the new product development process.
· With the cross-functional teams, identify and plan the specific activities that must be performed to produce the various project deliverables.
· Determine what resources (people, equipment materials) and what quantities of each should be used to perform project activities.
· Distribute needed information to project stakeholders in a timely manner. Collect and disseminate progress information.
· Identify, quantify and control risks that are likely to affect the project.
· Work with suppliers and sub-contractors to ensure they adequately plan, monitor and control contracts placed with them. Ensure all risks are addressed and project status is reported on a regular basis.
· Follow the defined product development process and ISO 9000 procedures for all new products. |
Requirements |
Qualifications & Skills
· Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Manufacturing Engineering and at least 4 years related experience and /or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
· Good oral & written communication skills including the ability to speak English fluently.
· Ability to define problems, collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret and extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
· Ability to work independently, as part of a team, as well as lead a team.
· Good commercial awareness and the ability to negotiate directly with customers to secure development contracts on appropriate commercial terms and to manage the commercial elements through project delivery.
· A strong technical background and experience in Design for Manufacture activities.
· Project Management experience.
· Experience in managing customers and providing appropriate performance reports and project status.
· Personal attributes required: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
· The ability to gain credibility with coworkers quickly and to inspire confidence in them.
· The ability to lead and motivate a team. |
