Responsibilities |
Job Responsibility:· Ensures supplier development initiatives are undertaken to ensure on going continuous improvements are made.· Manages the supplier sourcing process, continually identifying alternative suppliers based on quality, cost and service· Accountable for the management of supplier quality through the performance rating system, scheduled supplier audits and a commitment to on-going supplier development.· Applies FIFO principals in the management of material flow through out of the company.· Manage the delivery performance to the customer· Responsible for the minimization of the cost of the company’s supply chain management.· Guard against inventory obsolescence through engineering change management· Accountable for the management of inventory turns.· Determines the macro production schedule based on customer demand and supports production planning initiatives.· Manages the EDI receiving system and ERP system.· Manage of purchase orders for production sales.· Manage, support shippers and receivers and SQE personnel.· Initiate and manage the process of change with the company’s customer.· Determines annual cost reduction targets on product inputs.· Contract negotiation with suppliers to meet the company’s production needs focusing to achieve annual reduction in cost of components and transportation.· Support the Corporate sales team to identify financial opportunities with regard to design, supplier, and volume changes.· Financial accountability for departmental budget formulation.· Develop strategic plans for all aspects of materials management.· Observes standards for safe working conditions as outlined in the applicable Chinese Regulatory Act as well as rules and regulations outlined in the employee handbook.· Accept the ISO14001 Environment system training. Familiar with chemical treatment, hazard communication, hazard waste dispose management, emergency response and waste water treatment procedure, and comply with the requirement of the procedure.· Perform other duties as assigned by Plant Manager· Health & Safety:o Abide by all safety and non-safety plant rules and regulations;o Adhere to established quality and housekeeping standards;o Report any defects, hazards and non-compliance items to dept. Manager;o Report any incident/accident to dept. Manager and first aider;o Wear personal protective equipment provided by the employer;o Participate and assist on any investigation where required. Qualifications:· University degree preferably in an engineering or business related field. Must have successfully completed probationary period· Post Secondary certification in the field of Purchasing and Materials Management· 5 years of related Tier 1 automotive experience with 3 of the 5 years in a management level position· Computer literate including MS-Office· Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing· Strong negotiation and organizational skills.· Thorough knowledge of quality and manufacturing tools such as SPC, FMEA, control plans, poke yoke, pare to analysis, cause and affect analysis, fishbone diagrams, PPAP, root cause analysis .· General knowledge of TS1949; certified internal auditor preferred.
